Climbing Out of the Box Mashing Up Our Community

I spoke at the Massachusetts Library Association conference today – fun time! Here’s the Slideshare version of my presentation – moved from traditional mashups to mashing up the library’s community.
And – I spotted my book! They were selling it at their book table – coolness!

Hi David:
I really enjoyed your presentation this morning at the MLA conference and I spoke to you after about Joseph Cornell and his use of assemblage (sort of a mash up of actual objects) and how he used boxes to frame his work. This strikes me as a great example of non-technical mash up and also plays with the “out of the box” theme, because his out of the box thinking actually used boxes. Here is the obvious link to Wikipedia which includes the Peabody Essex Museum exhibit I mentioned as a resource at the end. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Cornell
