Got to work this morning, and saw this message left for me via Skype:
“[6:00:13 AM] Andrie Bramintya says: Good Day King,
I am Mr. Andrie Bramintya, Branch Manager of Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Limited of 1 Raffles Place #32-00 OUB Centre Singapore 048616. I have urgent and very confidential business proposition for you.A British Oil consultant/contractor with the Singapore Solid Minerals Corporation, {Mr.Wilson H. I get the Nigerian “business proposition” spam all the time. At least whoever wrote the Nigerian scam was smart enough to attribute his “proposition” to a foreigner in order to explain his bad English. What excuse does an “Australian” have for a sentence like “I have urgent and very confidential business proposition for you?”
Maybe he drank too much Fosters. Isn’t it funny, too, how the writer of these emails always feels it necessary to spell out the amount of money involved? As if we will be compelled to believe anyone who can spell out a large sum of money.

I just got an email from a guy named “Matthias Zimmerman” from the HVB in Singapore saying pretty much the same thing, except it was a guy named William Al-Sayeed from Singapore Solid Minerals COrporation who died and he’d left $15,750,000. It’s really sad how people feel the need to scam people like this and how some people really do get scammed! What they dont realize, though, is that some people, like me, don’t believe something so stupid and do their research sometimes. I say we need to something about this, or people will continue to be scammed by these fakes!
