Want an easy way to listen in on your customers? You might check out Addict-o-matic.
Here’s a description of what they do, from their About page: “Addictomatic searches the best live sites on the web for the latest news, blog posts, videos and images. It’s the perfect tool to keep up with the hottest topics, perform ego searches and feed your addiction for what’s up, what’s now or what other people are feeding on.”
So basically, Addict-o-matic does a similar thing to what Google Alerts, saved Twitter searches, etc do – but you can easily view it in one handy place.
How can you use Addict-o-matic? Here are some ideas:
- search your organization’s name
- search for your city, to see what people are talking about
- how about a topic close to your heart? I tried “topeka books” and found some interesting results
Useful or not – what do you think?
If they offered RSS support for the results I could replace about six feeds in my Google Reader with one…..
Hi David,
Yeah, I’m sure some folks would find this useful. I could see how you might use it to monitor trends and make decisions about things to blog or tweet about or program topics to offer based on the current buzz. I’ll tell you what I need though. I’m looking for an app that will alllow me to aggregate twitter feeds of my choosing into a newsletter format on a regular basis, similar to paper.li but different in the following ways. 1) I’d like to be able to create more complex searches 2) I’d like it to be ad free (or at least let me have some control of ads) 3) I’d like to be able to archive the issues and 4) I’d like to be able to mass distribute the resulting ‘newsletter’ in a format other than simply providing a link to the page. Do you or your readers know of any apps like that?????
oh i’m going to have to check this out – perfect timing actually – it was just mentioned in a webinar i hosted for our library last week! need to play around w the site 🙂 thank you!
wow! such a wonderful software I could use. How can I avail this one?
