Here are my slides from my session.
Here’s the session description – Ever had that feeling there was something missing on your website, or something not quite right … but you couldn’t put your finger on it? In addition to the seven essential elements, King describes ways to take your library’s web presence to the next level. Leave with lots of insights and ideas to improve your library’s website!
Great turnout, and a ton of tweets from it, too. Thanks!
Speaking of something missing…
I am on a committee looking at our website, specifically the page aimed at helping kids doing homework. Among other activities, I was looking at how other library websites presented this information and one of the websites I looked at, naturally, was yours. I noticed that you don’t seem to have a homework page at all. You have a kid’s page, but it is aimed at younger children. And your teen site doesn’t have a homework help page, either. What is your reasoning behind this? Is this something missing on your site, or is this a conscious decision? I look forward to learning your thoughts.
Is there audio archived for this anywhere? Thanks!
No – sorry!
It’s something that is currently missing. We do have a homework help center – it’s just not on our site at the moment. We are … working … on that. As in, working with our YS department to get everything they do up on the site in a logical place.
