Here’s an online course that will help you build strategies for staying on top of technology trends so that you feel better prepared to help your library’s customers now and in the future. You will look at innovation cycles in consumer technology and how they influence your library and your community. You will review current trends and trendwatchers to follow.
During the course, you will explore:
- Whether technologies are emerging or submerging
- Plans to incorporate a new technology
- Process reviews to improve existing technology
- Five key technology trends affecting libraries right now
- How to follow (and filter) trend watchers and trendsetters from inside and outside the library world
This popular course is being updated. Here’s are comments from people who took the previous course, “The course got me thinking in a new direction…helping me be open to new technology, keep up with it, and consider how it can relate to our library and its users. Invaluable!” and “The primary benefit was that it gave me the impetus and some framework to start thinking about what we need, and how to go about it. It really helped me gain perspective on where my library stands and what next steps are logical outcomes of what we’ve achieved in the recent past.”
Course Fee: $150 for those in the California library community, $200 for all others.
More information about the course and how to register can be found here. Hope to see you there!
